Our interns are currently enrolled in an accredited university program pursuing a Bachelors degree in an exercise science related field.
MedX has three semesters of internships:
Spring | January - April
Summer | May - August
Fall | September - December
My name is Morgan Hopp, and I am going to be a senior this fall at The University of Iowa studying Health and Human Physiology. Go Hawkeyes!
I grew up in Johnsburg, Illinois with my mom, dad, and sister! As a family, we like to exercise and play sports, spend time at our cabin in St. Germain Wisconsin, boat in the summer, and ski/snowboard in Colorado during the winter months!
I am a firm believer in using exercise and strength training as medicine for not only our physical bodies but also our minds. I am extremely excited about this internship opportunity at MedX to be able to practice and learn from the health professionals and clients of this facility, which will aid me in coaching and training my own clients as a Certified Personal Trainer in the future!
I am thrilled to be in Estes Park this summer, and can't wait to hike, explore, and meet everyone at MedX!
Hi, my name is Jan (pronounced yawn) and I am entering my fourth year of undergrad at CU Boulder. Exercise and sports medicine have always been a passion of mine which is why I am on the path to earn a B.S. in Integrative Physiology. Post graduation I plan on continuing my education in order to receive a doctorate of physical therapy.
As a Colorado resident the outdoors are of great interest to me. In addition to enjoying nature, I spend much of my free time hiking and skiing.
I am committed to making MedX the best possible exercise environment for its members. Please do not hesitate to talk to or ask me any questions you may have!
Hello, my name is Andrew Farrell, and I am a senior from Iowa State University interning during the summer semester of 2021. I am originally from the Des Moines area and am looking forward to training and working with everybody this semester in Estes Park.
I am planning on becoming a certified exercise physiologist after this internship as well as potentially getting my certification as a strength and conditioning specialist. I enjoy exercise, especially weightlifting, and want to make it enjoyable for you too.
In my free time I enjoy cooking, watching movies, riding my bike, hiking, snowboarding, reading, and many more activities. If we share any interests let me know and I would love to have a conversation about them. I always enjoy getting to know new people and finding commonalities between us.
My name is Brendan Sellberg and I grew up in Nevada, Iowa. I am a sophomore at Iowa State University studying Pre-Health and Physical Therapy with the end goal of becoming a physical therapist. I’ve been involved in sports my whole life, and the movement of the human body in all aspects fascinates me. Later on, I would also like to become a certified Strength and Conditioning specialist, to further my interests in athletics and fitness in general.
Some of my hobbies include: Weightlifting, hiking, playing guitar, playing sports with friends, cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs (sorry Broncos fans), and reading J.R.R. Tolkien (the best author ever).
I hope to make your experience here at MedX fun-filled and also satisfying. Do not hesitate to ask me any questions you might have about your fitness goals! I am always excited to learn and help out anyway that I can. I’ll see you around the gym!
