Merry "Fitness"

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all through the town-
Not a person was stirring, Not even a sound.
When all of a sudden I heard this strange thing,
What, on this night … could be happening.

A small group of locals, were out for a run.
A “fun run” they called it … just for some fun.
But wait just a minute … for it’s Christmas Eve.
You should be sleeping and dreaming and waiting you see.

So on their way home they stopped by the gym.
Their fitness is important for you and for him.
Some weights, a class and maybe a stretch.
Now home to the shower, some sleep we must catch.

So the stockings were hung by the chimney with care
Knowing that St. Nick soon would be there.
For hanging next door with the laundry you see,
Are those running, workout & hiking socks – Yeeee!

I in my PJ’s all tucked in my bed,
With sounds of exercise all stuck in my head.
I’m dreaming of hope, love, peace and joy…
Or was it for health, happiness and a toy.

When out from my window there came such clatter
So I jumped to the window to see what’s the matter.
Then what did I see in that winter scene…
But eight tiny reindeer in a warm-up routine.

With a red-suited leader so healthy and trim
It took me a moment to recognize him.
Now wait just a minute, this just isn’t right,
He’s supposed to be fat, jolly and big red sight.

Oohh, I know what’s up … Mrs. Claus got his report
The one from the doctor, with Cholesterol and sort.
“If you want to assure that the ‘Spirit” lives on…
Then we must be healthier, so together we’ll bond.”

So from that very moment, she bought him some shoes,
And they worked out together for health and to loose.
Everyday they felt better and better and great
Their energy, their alertness and even health’s fate.

You can’t work out once and be healthy all year,
It takes daily reminders, a challenge most fear…
Which is why those Americans are so lazy and fat
Exercise is health and health’s where it’s at!

But never mind that, for tonight’s Christmas Eve
And right now he’s here for me can’t you see.
So with a quick jump and slide he’s now done
OOOh, how exciting… I wonder which one.

The gift that he left for me under the tree
Was more that I asked for and better you see…
For the gift was nothing that I’d ever choose…
He left me a new pair of exercise shoes.

I heard him exclaim as he flew out of sight.
Merry Fitness to all and to all a great night.
